Hey, it’s Jen—and welcome back to Take Your Gummies.
Let’s talk about something that used to be simple and somehow became a full-blown performance: weekly planning.
I don’t know who decided we had to color-code our entire lives like they’re a high school binder.
I don’t know why the internet keeps telling us we need seventeen categories, five apps, two journals, and a system that sounds like it was developed by NASA. Somewhere along the way, planning stopped being grounding and turned into an Olympic sport.
And the worst part? Half the time, after you’ve spent an hour “getting organized,” you end up more stressed than when you started.
It’s like hosting a corporate retreat in your own kitchen—except there’s no catering, no inspirational speaker, and you’re wearing pajamas you definitely should’ve washed by now.
Planning is supposed to feel softer than that. It’s supposed to feel like prepping your nervous system, not punishing it.
It should be a moment where you sit with yourself and gently say, “Okay. Let's figure out how to make life less chaotic this week.” Not a high-stakes strategy meeting.
So I changed my approach. I made it less intense and more human.
The first thing I do, before anything else, is set up the vibe. I don’t mean theatrics. I mean softness.
A warm drink. Dim lights. Music that doesn’t yell at me.
A candle that smells like a hug. Because if the environment feels chaotic, the planning will feel chaotic. If the environment feels safe, your mind opens up.
Once I’m in the right atmosphere, I don’t jump straight into tasks. Tasks are the fastest way to overwhelm. Instead, I check in with myself. How do I feel? Not what I “should” accomplish.
Not what other people expect. How am I today? Because your energy sets the tone for your whole week. If your body is already tired, you can’t map out a schedule like you’re auditioning for Superhuman Productivity Barbie. Your plan needs to match your reality, not your fantasy.
Then, when I finally do think about the week ahead, I only choose three priorities. Three things that matter.
Not twenty. Not twelve. Just three.
Three is doable.
Three keeps you focused. Three gives you a sense of direction without triggering panic. Everything else becomes optional—bonus tasks, maybe tasks, tasks you’ll get to if the universe aligns, and you happen to have a burst of energy.
After the priorities comes my favorite part: rituals. Not routines.
Routines can feel rigid.
Routines feel like rules.
Rituals feel like care.
Rituals are the pieces of your week that make you feel human again.
The walk after lunch that resets your mind. The slow morning you gift yourself once a week. The skincare moment that feels like a tiny spa. The ten minutes with music and no phone. And yes—my gummies.
My Collagen Gummies are part of that ritual.
They sit next to my coffee supplies on purpose. Because when I make my morning coffee and take two wild strawberry gummies, it feels like one gentle moment where I’m choosing myself.
Not dramatically. Not with a giant morning routine that requires a ring light. Just a small, sweet anchor. A reminder that my body deserves support too.
After I’ve thought about rituals, I take a look at meals—but in the loosest way possible. I don’t meal prep like someone on a fitness reality show.
I just give myself a soft outline. A few ideas. Enough structure to stop me from living off crackers and iced coffee. Enough flexibility to still enjoy food instead of stressing over it.
And then—I stop. I close the notebook. I close the apps. I close the tabs. No spiraling. No rewriting. No “maybe I should add more.”
Planning is not meant to drain you. It’s meant to guide you. Once the plan exists, it’s enough. You don’t need to obsess over it.
Weekly planning can feel like a deep breath if you let it.
Like a warm drink at night. Like a quiet moment where you reorganize not just your schedule but your mind. It doesn’t have to be aesthetic. It just has to be kind.
So make your planning soft. Gentle. Honest. Rooted in who you actually are—not who you think you’re supposed to be.
Light your candle.
Set the vibe.
Take your gummies.
Make your choices with care. Your week will thank you for it.
See you next Monday.
